Times are tough for consumers. With inflation driving the price of everyday items to new highs, many households are limiting their monthly spending. To help consumers save money, Best Buy is opening four new Best Buy Outlet stores. The retailer says consumers can expect to see more Best Buy deals as a result of the new store openings.
Best Buy currently has 16 outlet stores in cities ranging from Moreno Valley, California, to Kennesaw, Georgia, to Brockton, Massachusetts. The new additional stores will be opened in Chicago, Houston, Phoenix and Manassas, Virginia
“Customers have shown a growing interest in our outlet locations, not only because our experts are there to provide advice, but because they offer a wide assortment of open-box and clearance items at a discounted price,” Best Buy said.
The company added that Best Buy Totaltech membership benefits apply to its outlet stores, including free delivery and standard installation.
Like most warehouses, Best Buy Outlets offer steep discounts on open-box and clearance items. The stores include open-box refrigerators, TVs, and laptops. However, Best Buy plans to expand these categories by adding tablets, gaming devices, smartphones, and more to the mix.
“These outlets unlock value by alleviating space and capacity from our core stores, and they are an important element of our circular economy strategy by providing a second opportunity for products to be resold instead of ending up in the landfill,” Damien Harmon, an executive vice president at Best Buy said during an investors’ call in March.
Best Buy noted that by shopping at its outlet stores, customers are helping to limit waste by giving technology a new, longer life.
“That’s one of the steps of a circular economy, in which products are kept in use for as long as possible through repair, trade-ins and recycling,” the company said.
